Twelfth Place -- 4 Points
frost in the air the line of swallows ends with a sparrow
Johannes Manjrekar dec2002 (0,1,2) = 4
Humour with some pathos - the swallows are gathered and about to leave
the sparrow behind. It is the end of the line and of summer, which the
swallows will answer with migration. The sparrow just feels the cold
[and will endure worse] without the instinctive urge to change
location.
Andrea Gradidge
I like the picture and the unusual situation of a
sparrow joining a group of swallows. I wonder how
long the sparrow will stay with a group of migratory
swallows. This haiku is one that I can reread and find
enjoyable each time.
